MBSS 2013 is COMING!!!

MBSS is the acronym of Malaysian Business Student Summit

MBSS 2013 is a 4 day’s 3 night’s summit which gather various business field student from all around the country together with Business Leaders in Malaysia.

Throughout the 4 days 3 nights summit, there will be a lot of interesting yet beneficial activities for the participants. E.g. talk by Keynote Speaker, Case Study Challenge, Amazing Race, Panel Forum, Capital Game, Summit Banquet and etc. (Activities stated are subject to changes)

MBSS serves as a platform to effectively connect business students and also business leaders in Malaysia as well as in Southeast Asia.

Aims:

1. To facilitate and encourage interactions between business undergraduates throughout Malaysia as well as Southeast Asia while building a stronger network within the business related community.
2. To equip undergraduates with the required skills and knowledge to be able to rise to challenges and thrive in the field of business.
3. To serve as an avenue for the personal development of the students who are organizing and participating in this prestigious event.



Objectives of MBSS:

1. To provide Malaysia as well as Southeast Asia’s business students with insights into business professions.
2. To serve as a networking platform between business students and business leaders in Malaysia as well as Southeast Asia.
3. To equip business students with soft skills that is necessary in the real business world.

How much is the fee?
Every participant need to pay RM90 which covers all the meals within event days, t-shirts and the accommodation.

Opening ceremony




After months of preparation, the most anticipated day finally arrived. The organizing committee had been ready and did some last minute checks to ensure that the programme would run smoothly. Participants began arriving as early as 9am for their registration.

As we wait for our programme to begin, some participants mingled while others browse through the goodies bag that was filled with informative magazines and pamphlets thanks to our generous benefit in kind sponsors PUSMAL, GRAD MALAYSIA AND @KAMPUS!



To kick start our opening ceremony, our emcees announced the arrival of our guests of honor :-

We started the ceremony with a prayer by Mr Chingiskhan Berdibekov. We then had a welcoming and opening speech by the Project Director of Malaysian Business Student Summit 2012, Mr Wong Chee Kang who briefly spoke about the objectives of the programme what it hopes to achieve after the 3 days.

We were also very lucky to have the Dean of Faculty of Business and Accountancy to join us for the ceremony. Prof. Madya Che Ruhana Isa gave her speech and briefly expressed her gratitude to our Diamond Sponsor, SUNSURIA for their generous sponsor for the event.

Even the Deputy Vice Chancellor of University of Malaya , Yg Bhg Professor Datuk Dr. Rohana Yusof attended our opening ceremony. She had also gave a speech and shared a few words of wisdom with us. She then congratulate the organizing committee for all the effort that has been put in. 

Later on, Yg Bhg Professor Datuk Dr Rohana Yusof, Prof. Madya Che Ruhana Isa and Mr Fow Meng Wah (representative of Sunsuria) were called up on stage to officiate Malaysian Business Student Summit 2012! 





With that, Malaysian Business Student Summit 2012 HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!

The opening ceremony ended with a mock check presentation from our sponsors to our project director.

Roslan's best qualities can be described by his most irritating nature, i.e. he asks too many questions. He strives on learning new things, further enhancing his existing knowledge base. Roslan is not ashamed to make mistakes and admits it so that he learns and does not make the same mistake again. He excels in learning and imparting the knowledge he obtains.

The experience he has gained over the last 14 years has been exponentially growing in his plight to be an entrepreneur.With four start-ups under his belt, his objective in life is to be playing a role in the development of human capital through entrepreneurship and contributing back to society and country.

His previous role as the Director of Technopreneur and Enterprise Development in the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) has him playing a role in the development of the Innovation – SME paper that was presented as part of the National Innovation Model in the National Innovation Council in 2007, to name a few of many achievements in his tenure in MDeC. He also initiated and implemented many new programs to encourage, inculcate and scale new technopreneur and innovation programs in Universities and several constituents in Malaysia.

Still young at heart, Roslan is now the Chairman of myHarapan, where he leads the organization’s vision and serves as the chief advocator for youth development in Malaysia.

Joel Neoh, 28, is an entrepreneur whose first success was a million ringgit business venture at the age of 20 while still in university. At age 23, he won Malaysia's first corporate reality television programme, The Firm as the youngest contestant.

He then co-founded Youth Asia and expanded it into a group of award winning internet companies that invests in launching and growing innovative companies in the internet industry. Youth Asia was previously known as Youth Malaysia, which won the coveted Dream Malaysia Awards: Youth Friendly Company of the Year in 2007.

He is also the founder and organizing chairperson of the annual National Youth Entrepreneur Convention, which took place in 2008, 2009 and 2010. The NYEC is the first and the largest youth entrepreneurship conference, featuring top Malaysian entrepreneurs under the age of 30. As a flagship youth event of the year, Joel is the founder of Malaysia’s Largest Youth Festival, YOUTH'10. The Festival gathered over a hundred thousand young Malaysians since 2008. The 2010 festival, YOUTH’10 generated over RM6 million worth of PR value and won #1 Promotional Activity of the Year at The Malaysian Public Relations Awards 2010.

In September 2010, he founded GroupsMore, which was acquired by Groupon at an undisclosed amount in January 2011. As CEO of both, Joel has successfully built and continues to lead Groupon Malaysia and Groupon Taiwan both part of the NASDAQ public-listed Groupon one of the world's fastest growing companies ever as noted by Forbes. As of 1 November 2011, Groupon Malaysia and Groupon Taiwan has over 3,000,000 subscribers and employs over 300 employees.

Joel is the Organizing Chairperson for the public fundraising charity event, One Heart Two Causes Three Reasons. Proceeds of this charity event went to several charity and non-profit organizations, namely the Tsunami Charity Event and Tsunami Victims Fund Raising, Malaysian AIDS Foundation Charity Show, Male Cancer Awareness Campaign, Kiwanis Club of Bukit Bandaraya Charity Auction and The Force of Nature Aid Foundation.

Joel graduated as one of the top 3 students in his course from Monash University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2005, and is a Monash Scholarship holder.

Recognize this man here? He is Mr Jason Lo who is currently the CEO of Tune talk. Not only that, incase you didnt know, he is also a musician and has produced albums. Mr Jason also co created the My Team Football reality program which was the highest rated reality show in Malaysia at the time. Registration' FAQs !

Registration is required for all Malaysian Business Student Summit 2012 participants. A fee of RM80 must be paid to confirm registration. The fee covers expenses for participation, accommodation and meals during the summit, the participant kits, 2 T-Shirt and transportation during the event.

Who are eligible to register for MBSS2012?

Students (undergraduates- degree/diploma) who are currently undergraduates from ALL local and private universities in Malaysia.


Registration will begin on 27th February 2012 (12.00a.m. onwards) and closed on 27th March 2012 (11.59p.m). Only 200 seats are available.




                            REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

The registration is in 3 simple steps.

1st Step: Please click on Register and fill in the online registration form with all necessary details. Please allow us to respond to your registration in 3 days. An email to confirm your registration will be sent to you within 3 days upon your registration which includes the details of payment.

2nd Step: Payment mustr be made within 7 days upon the received of confirmation email from MBSS 2012. MBSS2012 committee reserve the right to cancel your registration  if you fail  to proceed with the payment within 7 days. An email of payment verification will be sent to you to verify your payment within 3 days upon the payment being received.

3rd Step: Check on the details in the verification email and your registration is about to done! Reply the email to confirm your registration.

**Note: You are required to bring your proof of payment during MBSS2012 for final verification.
